The Hutchinson Public Library will debut a new virtual author talk series in January featuring bestselling and award-winning writers from around the world.

The free series will cover fiction and nonfiction genres, with all events provided at no cost to participants.

David Brooks, a prominent cultural writer and New York Times bestselling author, will lead the first discussion on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. Central Time via digital live-stream. Brooks will discuss his book "How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen."

The book explores essential questions about human connection, including what kind of attention to give others and what conversations to have. Brooks draws from multiple fields to present an approach to understanding people, driven by his characteristic curiosity and determination for personal growth.

Registration is required for the event. Interested participants can register and submit questions for the author at https://libraryc.org/hutchpl/109227.

More information about upcoming author talks is available on the library's website at hutchpl.org.
