Hutchinson Police Department welcomes K9 Strike to force

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Police Department announced the addition of K9 Strike, a German Shorthaired Pointer, to its law enforcement team.
Strike, born May 3, 2024, in the Czech Republic, received initial training from K9 Working Dogs International before joining the department in September 2025.
The narcotics detection dog is certified to identify PCP, LSD, psilocybin, methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine and fentanyl. Strike also specializes in detecting ground disturbances, a skill used to locate missing persons.
Officer Ryan Aden serves as Strike's handler. The pair completed their certification as a team in Rock Springs, Wyoming, through K9 Working Dogs International.
Strike marks his debut in law enforcement patrol work with the department, located at 210 W. 1st Ave.
