HUTCHINSON — Two local organizations served 212 meals to families across Hutchinson through a collaborative effort that brought together multiple community partners.
Wisdom In Motion and Hutch In Harmony, operating as The People's Table, coordinated the meal service that included 106 hot lunches and 106 bulk meals for delivery and pickup.
The Garcia Family provided hot lunches consisting of spaghetti, dinner rolls, green beans, cookies and water. Community members prepared bulk meals including chicken and rice, creamy chicken and rice, black bean chicken soup, two varieties of chili and baked spaghetti.
Youth from the WIM International Cooking Class prepared bulk meals for distribution. Mariposas Events & Rentals donated silverware and foam containers. Living Hope Free Will Baptist Church provided space for the operation, while Trinity Catholic Jr./Sr. High School students volunteered to deliver meals.
Excess meals were transported to Christian Soup Ministry Inc. during its dinner service for additional distribution to families.
The initiative relied on community members who registered or contacted organizers to contribute homemade meals.
The People's Table describes its mission as "nourishing our community, one shared meal at a time."
