Hutchinson Library to Host Young Adult Book Tasting Event

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Public Library will host a Young Adult Book Tasting event Saturday, Sept. 27, from 4 to 5 p.m., offering teens and their families a chance to explore new literary genres while enjoying refreshments.
The event invites participants to sample books from the library's Young Adult Collection while sipping dirty sodas. The program aims to help seventh through 12th graders discover different book genres and potentially find new favorite reads.
"This event is a fun way for 7th-12th graders to explore different book genres and maybe even find a new favorite read," library officials said in announcing the program.
The event is open to teens in grades 7-12 and their accompanying adults. Interested participants must register online at hutchpl.org/young-adults/ to secure their spot.
The Hutchinson Public Library, located at 901 N. Main St., regularly offers programming designed to engage different age groups in the community. The facility maintains an 88% recommendation rating based on 24 reviews.
Library officials can be reached at 620-663-5441 or info@hutchpl.org for additional information about the event or other programming opportunities.
The book tasting format allows participants to "sample" various books through brief introductions before committing to a full read, similar to how food tastings work at restaurants or events.
