LIBERAL – Anna Swearingen scored her first career game-winning goal in the 70th minute as No. 18-ranked Hutchinson Community College defeated Seward County 1-0 on Oct. 15 at Liberal High School.

The Blue Dragons (10-2-2) extended their unbeaten streak to six games and won their fourth consecutive match. Hutchinson reached double-digit victories for the 19th time in the program's 21-year history.

Isabela Puccinelli set up the lone goal with a free kick from the left side of the goal that found Swearingen at point-blank range. Swearingen converted her second goal of the season with 29:43 remaining in the second half.

The assist was Puccinelli's eighth of the season.

Hutchinson goalkeeper Evie Carvell made two saves to earn her seventh win of the season. The freshman extended the Blue Dragons' scoreless streak to 383 minutes, 20 seconds spanning three consecutive shutouts.

Hutchinson won its second straight 1-0 game, matching a feat last accomplished in 2010 with victories over Barton and Johnson County. The Blue Dragons improved to 20-15 all-time in 1-0 games and 5-0-1 against Seward County.

The shutout was the 196th in program history.
