HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team posted a conference-high .357 attack percentage to defeat Cloud County 3-0 Saturday night at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons won 25-16, 25-21, 25-16 to improve to 13-15 overall and 5-8 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. Cloud County fell to 6-24 overall and 0-12 in league play.

Three Hutchinson players reached double figures in kills. Sophomore outside hitter Alondra Villanueva recorded her team-high 13th double-double of the season with 13 kills and 15 digs while hitting .286. Sophomore Atlyn Proctor added 12 kills on .333 hitting, and sophomore Jaylynn McNeill contributed 10 kills on .429 hitting.

The Blue Dragons totaled 52 kills on 112 attacks with 12 errors, marking their sixth match this season with a hitting percentage of .300 or better. Hutchinson out-hit Cloud County .357 to .160 and held a 22-kill advantage.

Sophomore setter Angela Reupena distributed 44 assists, her second-highest total of the season, along with three kills and eight digs. Freshman libero Clara Oliveira led the team with 16 digs.

Hutchinson dominated the first set with .393 hitting, building leads of 9-2 and 17-9 before closing out 25-16. The second set featured 12 ties and five lead changes before consecutive kills from Proctor sealed the 25-21 victory. McNeill's four kills in the third set helped the Dragons pull away for the 25-16 finish.

Cloud County held a 6-1 blocking advantage, but Hutchinson led in digs 53-41. Zoey Sudbeck paced the Thunderbirds with nine kills.

The victory extended Hutchinson's winning streak over Cloud County to 20 consecutive matches. The Blue Dragons travel to face Seward County on Saturday, Oct. 25, in Liberal.
