Hutchinson Art Center to feature late ceramicist Carolyn Dillon in autumn auction

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Work by late Hutchinson ceramicist Carolyn Dillon will be featured in the Hutchinson Art Center's 2025 Autumn Consignment Art Auction.
The auction takes place Saturday, October 18, with doors opening at 9 a.m. and bidding starting at 11 a.m. Admission is free and open to the public.
Auction artwork is on display in the center's main gallery through October 18 and can be viewed online at the center's website.
Dillon, a Wichita native, moved to Hutchinson after her marriage in 1952. She discovered ceramic artistry in the late 1960s after taking a class through the Hutchinson Recreation Commission.
She studied ceramics at workshops in Lindsborg and Santa Fe, N.M., frequently working under fellow artist Heidi Loewen. Dillon served on the boards of the Kansas Arts Commission and the Mid-America Art Alliance.
Dillon maintained an art studio in her home, which she said brought her much happiness. She died this year at age 93.
