Samuel Allen, 23, who announced his candidacy on June 23, was arrested on a $40,000 bond and also faces a failure to appear charge, Ellis County booking records show. The alleged incident occurred in June, with Allen accused of attempting to extort money from the victim by threatening to distribute intimate images.
