Hayes Drive to close Wednesday for sewer main installation
Detours expected to last three to four weeks during ongoing water well remediation
MANHATTAN, Kan. — Drivers will face three to four weeks of detours starting at 9 a.m. Wednesday when crews close a section of Hayes Drive just north of Levee Drive to install a new sanitary sewer main. The closure will cause moderate to heavy traffic delays, routing motorists onto U.S. 24 — also known as Tuttle Creek Boulevard — as well as Casement and McCall roads. The sewer construction is being coordinated with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as part of ongoing remediation efforts tied to City Water Well 12.
