Sen. Marshall Attends Gold Star Memorial, Criticizes Democratic Spending

WASHINGTON — Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., highlighted his recent Kansas visit and media appearances in his weekly newsletter dated Sept. 23.

Marshall made over 15 stops across Kansas, meeting with local leaders, farmers, medical practitioners and business owners to discuss facility tours, construction projects and farms. He also addressed a Gold Star Family gathering at Fort Riley for the dedication of a new memorial honoring families who lost loved ones serving in the legendary 1st Infantry Division.

At the Agri-Pulse Ag Outlook forum, Marshall spoke about the Make America Healthy Again movement and explained why he believes farmers and ranchers play a crucial role in American healthcare reform.

Marshall attended the Gold Star Families Memorial dedication at Fort Riley, calling the 1st Infantry Division "the U.S. Army's enduring elder statesman." He told Gold Star Families that their loved ones' sacrifices have created an enduring legacy.

"This isn't a shrine to conflict, but a vibrant ode to courage — the kind that transforms everyday folks into legends, inspiring us all to chase life, liberty, and happiness with unbridled zeal," Marshall said during his remarks.

The senator also appeared on Fox News Sunday to discuss free speech issues, the Senate HELP hearing and what he called the looming government shutdown. Marshall criticized Democrats' approach to problem-solving, saying their solution is to "throw more money at it."

Marshall acknowledged the Manhattan Community Foundation's contribution to making the memorial possible and noted the memorial honors 13,578 names etched on the granite monument.
