From the office of Rep. Tracey Mann
Last week in Washington, I met with Kansans and industry leaders working in health care, agriculture, banking, and manufacturing. We discussed rural access to care, the future of Kansas agriculture, workforce challenges, and pro-growth financial policy. I’m always grateful for the opportunity to hear directly from the people who keep our state strong and to bring their perspectives back to the halls of Congress. Thanks for the meetings!

WASHINGTON - Rep. Tracey Mann, R-Kansas, outlined his legislative agenda in a recent newsletter to constituents, emphasizing government funding, rural development and housing affordability.

Mann said he voted to keep federal government operations running while supporting individual appropriations bills to restore "regular order" to the budget process. He criticized Washington's preference for "political theatre" over fiscal responsibility, noting the national debt has exceeded $37 trillion.

The congressman highlighted his work on rural development programs, citing their importance to Kansas's 60 primarily rural counties. During a House Agriculture Committee hearing, Mann emphasized streamlining USDA Rural Development programs to help communities coordinate infrastructure projects more effectively.

On housing issues, Mann co-sponsored the "Saving the American Dream Act," which would establish an interagency task force to address homeownership barriers. He also supported the "Uplifting First-Time Homebuyers Act," which would increase IRA withdrawal limits for first-time buyers from $10,000 to $50,000.

The newsletter also honored the late Charlie Kirk, with Mann noting the House passed a resolution condemning Kirk's murder and recommitting to values of free speech and respectful debate.

Mann reminded constituents that military academy nomination applications are due Monday, Sept. 29, 2025, encouraging interested students to apply through his office.

The Big First District representative serves Kansas's expansive western and central regions.
