Free Car Seat Safety Checks Offered at McPherson Fire Station
Community event ensures proper installation for child passenger safety

MCPHERSON, Kan. —The McPherson Fire Department will host a free car seat check lane on Wednesday, July 10th from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Station 1, located at 312 E. Kansas Avenue. Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their vehicles for expert inspection of current car seat installations or to receive assistance with installing new car seats. The event is part of a partnership with Safe Kids Kansas and the Kansas Traffic Safety Resource Office to promote child passenger safety throughout the community.
Trained technicians will be on hand to ensure car seats are properly installed and appropriate for each child's age, weight, and height. Whether residents need help installing a new car seat or want to verify their current installation meets safety standards, the free service provides peace of mind that children are traveling as safely as possible. No appointment is necessary for this drop-in event, and all car seat checks and installations will be provided at no cost to families.
