Food Bank of Reno County races to meet $1 Million goal before year-end deadline
RENO COUNTY — With just two days remaining until its Dec. 31 deadline, the Food Bank of Reno County is pushing to close a $153,000 funding gap in its "Nourishing Our Future" capital campaign.
The organization has raised $847,000 toward its $1 million goal, which will support the completion of a facility expansion aimed at improving food access for families throughout the county.
"Now is the moment to help us cross the finish line," the food bank stated in a social media post Monday.
The campaign focuses on completing additional space that officials say is critical to meeting growing demand. Year-end contributions will directly fund the construction project and help ensure consistent food distribution in 2026.
Food banks across the country have reported increased demand in recent years as families struggle with inflation and rising living costs. The Reno County facility's expansion is designed to accommodate that growth while improving operational efficiency.
Donors can contribute online through the organization's website. All gifts made before midnight Dec. 31 will count toward the campaign total.
The food bank serves residents throughout Reno County, providing emergency food assistance, nutritional education and support services to vulnerable populations.
