Family Community Theatre Presents Free Children's Production

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Family Community Theatre's Children's Academy will present "Wizard of Oz in Thirty Minutes" in two free performances next weekend.

The abbreviated version of the classic tale will be performed at the Dillion Nature Center Playscape on Saturday, Sept. 20, at 4 p.m. and Sunday, Sept. 21, at 1:30 p.m. at the zoo grounds.

The production is part of the Children's Academy program and offers families an opportunity to enjoy live theater in an outdoor setting. Admission to both performances is free.

The Family Community Theatre announced the performances on social media Monday, encouraging audiences to "be as smart as the Tinman" by attending the shows.

The weekend performances provide entertainment for zoo visitors and showcase young performers from the local theater group's educational program. The unique venue combines wildlife viewing with live theatrical entertainment for families in the Hutchinson area.
