Election Day restrictions announced for Reno County voters

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Reno County officials are reminding voters that Kansas law prohibits wearing campaign materials to polling places on Election Day.

The Reno County government announced that voters heading to the polls cannot wear clothing or accessories that support or oppose any candidates or issues on the ballot. The restriction applies to items such as campaign hats, shirts, buttons or any other materials that are in support or opposition of candidates.

Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.

Officials said wearing such items at a polling place is considered electioneering and violates state law. The county government asked voters to help keep polling places neutral and fair by leaving campaign materials at home.
