Coming off a disappointing loss at Wamego last week, the Buhler High School Crusaders (3-2) faced the El Dorado High School Wildcats (0-5) on homecoming weekend Friday, Oct. 10, 2025, at Buhler Crusader Stadium.
The game's opening sequence set the tone for the evening. El Dorado received the opening kickoff, but a mistake by the return team resulted in the Wildcats starting from their own 2-yard line. From there, the Crusaders' defense took charge, forcing a three-and-out.
El Dorado's special teams continued to struggle. The ensuing punt traveled about 30 yards, and Buhler returned the ball to the Wildcat 8-yard line. Buhler senior tailback No. 22 Ben Clouse punched the ball into the end zone on the next play, scoring the first touchdown of the game.
The Crusaders continued to dominate the first quarter on both sides of the ball. Buhler's defense stymied the Wildcats, and Clouse scored touchdowns of 10 and 18 yards, ending the first quarter with a score of 21-0.
The second quarter mirrored the first. The Crusaders' defense forced two turnovers, while the offense added five touchdowns — three through the air, one on a run and one on an interception return. The half concluded with a commanding lead of 56-5 in favor of the Crusaders. The second half was played using the mercy rule running clock. The final score was 63-6 in favor of Buhler.
