Cosmo Bowl brings youth football, community together for STEM childcare initiative

BUHLER, Kan. — The Cosmosphere will host its first annual Cosmo Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 1, at Buhler High School Football Stadium. The event will feature fourth- through sixth-grade players from Buhler and Wyandotte County in a game supporting early childhood education.

The Buhler Jr. Crusaders will face the Wyandotte Co. Panthers in a 6:30 p.m. kickoff, with gates opening at 6 p.m. and tailgating beginning at 3 p.m.

Admission is $5, with children 5 and under admitted free. Event t-shirts are available for $15.

All proceeds will benefit the development of a new STEM-focused childcare center in Reno County through a partnership involving the Hutchinson YMCA, Cosmosphere, Horizons Mental Health Center and Hutchinson Regional Healthcare System.

The stadium is located at 611 N. Main St. in Buhler. Free parking will be available.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate or in advance through the Cosmosphere. Additional information is available at the Cosmosphere's website.

The event marks the space museum's first venture into youth sports fundraising, combining community athletics with its educational mission.
