Bullpups Win Double-OT Thriller, 8th Grade Football
McPherson rallies from eight down late to stun Buhler in two overtimes.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson eighth-grade boys football team erased an eight-point deficit in the final three minutes of regulation and outlasted Buhler 22-14 in double overtime. Quarterback Jaxon Carlson ignited the comeback with a 13-yard touchdown run — set up by a 30-yard strike to Dax Prose, who finished with close to 100 receiving yards — then Carlson scored again in the second overtime and ran in the deciding two-point conversion to put the Bullpups ahead for good. Eli Barnett added a 10-yard touchdown run in the first overtime, and the McPherson defense stepped up to seal the victory.
