Bullpups Girls Tennis Sweeps Home Duals

MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Middle School girls tennis team hosted dual matches against El Dorado and Valley Center on Thursday, Sept. 17, defeating El Dorado 2-1 while also winning the majority of doubles and singles contests against Valley Center. Against El Dorado, the doubles team of Alison Palacios and Abrielle Yoder won 6-0, and Sam Corcoran claimed a 6-0 singles victory, while Dez Fritz fell in a tiebreak at No. 1 singles. In the Valley Center dual, doubles teams of Sloan Shober and Elsie Walters, Paityn Behrens and Aly Jo Rausch, Mabel Jones and Karsen Greer, and Lily Esping and Stella Weimer all won, with coach Henry Weiner noting the team's mental toughness and improving topspin game as the season progresses.
