Bullpups Football Eyes Consistency in 2026
McPherson looks to build on a 5-4 season by eliminating costly inconsistencies.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity boys football team enters the 2026 season with unfinished business after a 5-4 campaign that left head coach Pavlovich believing his program never fully tapped its ceiling. "I believe we were close to reaching our potential last season," Pavlovich said. "We struggled in our consistency of play. Our lack of consistency was the reason we struggled week to week."
The offseason brought focused work to address those shortcomings. The Bullpups attended a four-day team camp and traveled to Fort Hays State University for a contact camp, going 4-0 in 20-minute scrimmages. "I am impressed on how much our kids retained from the summer," Pavlovich said. Key returners include Dylan Hall, Carter Melton, Nolan Pearcy, Brody Milleson, Chase Lowery, Bo Barkley, Dane Becker, Colt Chapman and Brody Hoffman, with several first-year varsity contributors expected to step in immediately.
Marquee tests against Mulvane, Buhler, Tonganoxie and Great Bend headline the schedule, but Pavlovich kept the program's mission straightforward. "We simply want to achieve our potential," he said. "We can control how well we execute and how we respond to adversity. If we do those things, we will achieve our potential."
