Bullpups doubles duos shine at tennis invitational
McPherson boys varsity tennis finished fifth with only half its roster available.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson boys varsity tennis team finished fifth with 7 points Saturday at an invitational, competing with only half its lineup due to state music obligations and participation limits. The No. 2 doubles pairing of Mason Eisenbarth and Aaron Winter reached the championship match in their first tournament together before falling 8-6 to Newton, while Jonas Emery and Rylan Unruh went 2-1 to claim third at No. 1 doubles. The Bullpups travel to Hesston on Tuesday to face several 4A programs in an open draw.
