Bullpups Dominate Augusta 6-0 Behind Morales Hat Trick
McPherson scores twice in opening five minutes, cruises to road victory
AUGUSTA — The McPherson boys soccer team put on an offensive clinic Tuesday night, defeating Augusta 6-0 in a dominant road performance. Manny Morales led the way with a hat trick, scoring in both halves to power the Bullpups' attack.
Head Coach Chris Adrian challenged his team to come out aggressive and dominate the first 10 minutes, and the Bullpups delivered with two goals in the opening five minutes. Morales opened the scoring off a through ball from Ben Bocox, followed quickly by Yahir Valadez's goal on a cross from Daniel Bowen. Parker Riemann added a third goal on a tap-in after Bocox's shot was saved, and Morales completed the first-half scoring with his second goal assisted by Valadez. "It's really been fun to see Daniel attack more and grow in confidence when he gets into the final third," Adrian said. Morales completed his hat trick early in the second half on a feed from Jackson Martin, and Kevin Garcia capped the scoring by blocking the goalkeeper's clearance into the net. The second half featured heavy rotation as the Bullpups got younger players valuable varsity minutes while resting starters. "The home stretch of our season is going to be tough, but this team is battle tested and ready to go against anyone," Adrian said. The JV squad also won 1-0 on a goal from Pedro Gaspar Francisco.
