Bullpups Dominate at Buhler Girls Varsity Tennis Invite
McPherson sweeps top spots in both singles and doubles at Buhler.
BUHLER, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity girls tennis team claimed the team title at the Buhler Invitational Tuesday, finishing first with 68 points to outdistance runner-up Wichita Classical (46) and host Buhler (44). The doubles duo of Quinn Liebl and Avery Unruh went 3-0 to win the championship, while Dragon Rodriguez and Audra Sandbo earned second, setting up an all-McPherson final; in singles, Mayson Wiens took third and McKenna Paul fourth, also an all-Bullpup finish. "Anytime your own girls are playing each other late in a tournament for top finishes, you're doing something right as a team," the coach said, noting McPherson had McPherson vs. McPherson matches for first and second in doubles and third and fourth in singles.
