MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity boys soccer team closed the Maize South Tournament with a 5-0 victory over Wichita Classical in the seventh-place game, with Jackson Martin and Yahir Valadez combining for all five goals — Martin scoring twice and Valadez netting a hat trick, with the two trading assists throughout. Goalkeeper Hunter Schroeder made three saves in the shutout, while head coach Chris Adrian praised multiple contributors: "Another player who I thought had his best game of the season was Parker Riemann. He seemed to be first to almost every ball and played some excellent passes that helped get us moving forward." Adrian also credited defenders Ben Bocox and Grayson Broadus for handling Wichita Classical's athletic forwards in 1-on-1 situations throughout the match.
