Bullpups boys soccer eyes state run in 2026
McPherson returns eight starters but must replace key offensive production.
MCPHERSON, Kan. — The McPherson Bullpups varsity boys soccer team enters 2026 with a senior-heavy lineup, returning eight of 11 starters after a 10-9 season that ended in a state quarterfinal loss to Rose Hill. Junior midfielder Yahir Valadez leads the returning core after posting 12 goals and 10 assists in 2025, while the Bullpups must replace the scoring of graduated forwards Manny Morales and Gabe Standfast. Freshmen Miguel Alonzo, Leo Gaspar Mendez and Malachi Griggs headline a newcomer class the program believes can help fill that void against what the coaching staff describes as one of the toughest regular-season schedules among 4A schools in Kansas.
