Bullpups Boys Cross Country Captures Regional Championship
Muehler leads team to state; Kramer qualifies individually for girls
The McPherson boys cross country team claimed the regional championship and earned a trip to the state meet, while freshman Adeline Kramer secured an individual state berth for the girls team.
Caleb Muehler captured the individual regional title to lead the Bullpups to the team championship. Kayden Friesen finished fourth and Tripp Pelzel placed sixth as McPherson put three runners in the top six to dominate the team standings.
The boys team's balanced performance throughout the lineup proved to be the difference as they secured the regional crown and punched their ticket to the state tournament.
The girls team finished fourth in the team standings, just missing out on advancing to state as a team. However, freshman Adeline Kramer provided a bright spot with a fourth-place individual finish, earning her a spot at the state meet as an individual qualifier.
Kramer's breakthrough performance continues an impressive debut season for the freshman runner, who earlier earned all-league honors at the league meet.
State will take place on Nov. 1st in Wamego.
