Buhler sweeps triangular, defeats Winfield and Wichita Collegiate on senior night

The Buhler High School Crusaders (2-13-3) hosted a triangular meet with the Winfield Vikings (4-12-6) and the Wichita Collegiate Spartans (13-12) on senior night at Buhler High School's Jim Baker Fieldhouse on Oct. 7, 2025.
The Crusaders won both of the evening's matches. In the first match, Buhler defeated Winfield by scores of 25-17 and 25-21. In the match, Winfield was strong in service, while Buhler excelled at receiving and blocking. In the second match, the Vikings reduced their number of errors, pressing the Crusaders, but Buhler prevailed.
In the second match, Buhler faced a challenge from a Wichita Collegiate team featuring senior Carlyle Johnson, who is committed to Duke. In the first set, the Spartans quickly took the lead and dominated the play, winning the set 25-16.
Buhler regrouped and responded with strong defense, effective receiving and passing, and solid serving on offense. They started the second set with a powerful 6-0 serving run by sophomore No. 19 Addy Keller. Buhler established a lead of as many as eight points and closed out the set with an ace, winning 25-11.
In the third set, the Crusaders continued their all-around strong play, frustrating Collegiate and leading by as much as nine points. Buhler closed out the reverse sweep 25-17.
Buhler had strong play across the entire squad, with notable efforts from sophomore No. 4 Rorey Waldren, senior No. 14 Emerson Waldren, sophomore No. 19 Addy Keller and junior No. 23 Aubrey Leiker.
