BUHLER — Buhler High School Crusaders boys basketball hosted the Augusta High School Orioles at the Jim Baker Fieldhouse on Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026.
The second matchup of the evening was another low-scoring affair. The first quarter found both squads feeling one another out. The period finished with the Orioles leading 7-3. Augusta stretched its lead to seven points late in the second quarter.
Buhler steadily chipped away at the Augusta lead throughout the third quarter, narrowing the gap to four points by the end of the period, with a score of 25-21.
In the fourth quarter, Crusader seniors Isaiah Heredia and Jacob Miller stepped up to lead Buhler to a successful finish. Heredia made two 3-pointers, and Miller excelled under both baskets, contributing with rebounds, solid defense and aggressive offensive plays.
Buhler took its first lead of the game with a little over four minutes remaining. In an effort to disrupt the Crusaders' momentum, Augusta resorted to fouling Buhler. However, the Crusaders capitalized on their free throw opportunities, extending their lead to four points with two minutes left and wrapped up the victory with a final score of 38-30.
With the win, the Crusaders' record now stands at 6-4, and the Orioles also have a record of 6-4. Their next game will be at home versus Clearwater on Friday, Jan. 16, at the Jim Baker Fieldhouse.
