HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Central Christian School was evacuated Wednesday, April 22, after administrators received a bomb threat late that morning, according to Superintendent John Walker.
Walker said school officials immediately contacted local authorities and evacuated all students and staff upon receiving the threat. The Hutchinson Police Department responded and conducted a sweep of the entire campus, including all classrooms and facilities. No device or evidence of a threat was found.
"We take every threat seriously, regardless of its perceived credibility, and we will always act with caution and care," Walker said.
All relevant information has been turned over to the Hutchinson Police Department, which is continuing a full investigation. Normal school functions have since resumed.
