Bad Bobby Trail to Open with Dual Trailheads and November Dedication

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Bad Bobby Trail will feature two trailheads when it opens, with the main access point located at 39th and Plum streets and a secondary entrance at 23rd and Waldron Street.

The primary trailhead at 39th and Plum will include paved surfaces with designated parking spaces, thanks to a land donation by Jim Strawn. Trail organizers expressed gratitude for Strawn's contribution, which made the main access point possible.

Additional amenities planned for the 39th and Plum location include a gazebo, picnic table, bike racks and a water fountain equipped with a dog water bowl and a water bottle filling station to serve trail users.

All donors will have their name on a "Friends of Bad Bobby" plaque, located at the trailhead.

The trail's official dedication ceremony is scheduled for Friday, Nov. 7, at 5:30 p.m. at the north Plum trailhead. Following the dedication event, a celebration will take place at Salt City Brewing.

The Bad Bobby Trail represents a new recreational resource for the community, providing residents with access to outdoor activities and connecting two key locations in the area.

Community members interested in attending the dedication ceremony can find more information through the Bad Bobby Trail Updates page via social media, which has been providing regular updates on the project's progress.
