Arkansas City to Dedicate Hike and Bike Trail Extension with Ribbon Cutting

ARKANSAS CITY, Kan. — The City of Arkansas City will celebrate the completion of a nearly decade-long project with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Hike & Bike Trail extension at 10 a.m. Tuesday at La Hacienda South.

The ceremony will take place in the parking lot of La Hacienda South, located at 1709 South Summit. City officials are inviting residents to join them as they officially dedicate the trail extension, which has been in development for several years.

The project represents a significant addition to the city's recreational infrastructure, providing new opportunities for walking, running and cycling in the community. Officials said the trail extension will enhance connectivity and outdoor recreation options for Arkansas City residents.

The Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce is participating in the event alongside city officials.

The ribbon cutting marks the culmination of a project that city officials described as one of their most exciting infrastructure developments in recent years. The new trail is expected to contribute to the community's quality of life by promoting outdoor activity and healthy lifestyles.

Residents interested in learning more about what the trail means for recreation and the future of Arkansas City are encouraged to attend the ceremony.
