WINFIELD, Kan. — Winfield is set to mark America's 250th birthday with a two-day Independence Day celebration featuring live music, fireworks, food and family activities at Island Park and Broadway Sports Complex, according to a Facebook post from Visit Winfield.

Festivities begin Friday, July 3, at Island Park with free hot dogs, snow cones and family activities from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by a patriotic program from the Winfield Municipal Band at 7:15 p.m. and a public reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Celebrations continue Saturday, July 4, at Island Park with the Pharaohs Car Club Cruise-In, live music, food trucks and vendors, and a cornhole tournament.

That evening, the Midwest Moo baseball game at Broadway Sports Complex is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., with fireworks immediately following the game. The fireworks display is described by organizers as one of the area's most spectacular.
