Winfield Seeks Community Support Letters for Federal Street Safety Grant

WINFIELD, Kan. — The City of Winfield is seeking letters of support for a Safe Streets and Roads for All grant application that would fund safety improvements along Simpson Avenue and Viking Boulevard.

The project, titled "From Hazard to Safe Passage: Simpson Ave. & Viking Blvd. Safety Project," proposes new sidewalks, improved pedestrian crossings, traffic signal and roadway improvements, and additional safety features designed to create safer travel for drivers, students, families and pedestrians in the area.

Community members who support safer streets, sidewalks and crossings in Winfield are encouraged to submit a letter of support by Friday, May 22.

Letters may be submitted at City Hall, emailed to commdev@winfieldks.org or mailed to P.O. Box 646, Winfield, KS 67156.
