Winfield Police Department Extends Sign-Up Deadline for Youth Citizens Police Academy

Winfield, KS — The Winfield Police Department has extended the registration deadline for its youth citizens police academy, a half-day program open to children ages 9 through 12.

The program is designed to build a foundation between participants and law enforcement through age-appropriate activities encouraging interaction between officers and children. Participants will learn the importance of teamwork and achieving common goals.

The academy will be held June 1 from 9 a.m. to noon at no cost to participants.
