Winfield Isle of Lights Opens Sunday for 2025 Season
WINFIELD, Kan. — The annual Winfield Isle of Lights will illuminate Island Park beginning Sunday with a free tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 p.m.
The mile-long Christmas light display will open nightly from 6 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 30 at Island Park, located on North Main Street along Highway 77.
Sunday's opening ceremony will feature free hot cocoa from Scooter's Coffee and cookies made by volunteers at Winfield. The event marks the planting location of an evergreen tree donated by the Winfield Transition, with caroling by volunteers from College and Winfield High School. Volunteers Ruth Hamann and Mary Manning will light the tree for the first time this season.
Admission to the display is free, but donations are appreciated. The spectacular light display is made possible entirely by volunteers, support from the city of Winfield, donations, sponsorships and memorials.
Visitors can find more information at winfieldisleoflights.org, where they can purchase T-shirts, get directions and make donations.
The Isle of Lights has become a holiday tradition in south-central Kansas, drawing visitors throughout the season to view the elaborate Christmas decorations along the park's scenic route.
