Wildcats Rally Past Inman in Second-Half Comeback
Grill's 194 rushing yards power Moundridge to 22-14 victory
MOUNDRIDGE — The Moundridge Wildcats overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to defeat Inman 22-14 on Friday night, improving their record to 7-3 with a dominant second-half performance. Senior running back Paul Grill rushed for 194 yards and scored the game-sealing 51-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter, capping off a remarkable comeback effort by the Wildcats.
Trailing 14-0 at halftime, Moundridge's defense ignited the rally with a safety in the third quarter. The offense quickly followed with two rushing touchdowns to take a 15-14 lead entering the final period. "Our leadership showed up on Friday with a second half comeback," said head coach Tyler O'Connor. "Our defense sparked us with a safety and our offense took it from there. Proud of our guys for showing up when it counts!"
Grill's explosive 51-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter, followed by a Cyrus Blough extra point, sealed the victory for the Wildcats. Inman, which fell to 8-2, was led by Malachi Brunk's two first-half touchdowns that staked the team to its early advantage.
