Wildcats Fall to Hesston in Triple-Overtime Thriller at Hillsboro Trojan Classic

The Moundridge Wildcats came up just short in a marathon championship game Saturday at the Hillsboro Trojan Classic, falling 71-65 to Hesston in triple overtime. The loss drops Moundridge to 13-2 on the year.

Schmidt paced the Wildcats with 17 points while Shahan added 14. Lutz contributed 11 points, Kanitz and Churchill each scored eight, and Burge added seven. The teams battled through regulation and two extra periods before Hesston finally pulled away in the third overtime.

Despite the tough loss, Moundridge showed resilience in forcing three overtime periods against a quality opponent. The Wildcats will look to bounce back and carry their strong 13-2 record into the final stretch of the regular season.
