Wellington Middle School Leadership Team Supports Local Charities Through Fundraiser
WELLINGTON, Kan. — The Wellington Middle School leadership team recently completed a charitable initiative benefiting local organizations and animal welfare.
The student group donated food to a local food bank and launched a fundraising campaign for the Humane Society by offering a T-shirt sales promotion. Teachers and staff members could purchase shirts for $1 per day worn, with all proceeds supporting the shelter.
The leadership team also raised $275 for the Humane Society through additional fundraising efforts.
As part of their community service activities, students went Christmas shopping at Walmart, purchasing pet products which they subsequently donated to the Humane Society.
According to a social media post from Wellington Public Schools, the district emphasized that donations to the Humane Society can be made without requiring participation in the T-shirt fundraiser.
The Wellington Middle School leadership team's activities represent ongoing student-led charitable efforts within the district.
