Wellington High School Choir Performs at Cowley College Christmas Concert

WELLINGTON, Kan. — The Wellington High School Choir performed at the Cowley College Vespers Christmas Concert on Thursday evening, marking a collaborative event between the two institutions.

WHS Choir Director Jennifer Ault said Cowley College invited the high school choir in April to participate in the annual concert. The schools selected three pieces for the WHS students to perform at next Friday's Crusader Christmas show, scheduled for 7 p.m. at the WHS auditorium.

At the Vespers concert, all choir students from Cowley and Wellington circled around the audience and sang Christmas carols with audience participation, according to a Wellington Public Schools social media post.

"This concert was an experience for our students," Ault said in the post. "Everyone commented on how much fun they had singing with the Cowley College choir students."

Ault said she was proud of how the students conducted themselves during the concert, praising their sound quality and stage presence.

"Their sound was pure magic and everything you would want to hear in a Christmas concert," she said. "This was a proud collaboration experience we were given by Cowley College."

The annual Crusader Christmas show will feature the same collaborative performance at 7 p.m. Dec. 13 at the WHS auditorium.
