VP Vance, Sen. Marshall, Masterson, and others hold rally in Olathe

Topics included economy, manufacturing jobs, and attacking Democrats

OLATHE — Vice President JD Vance hosted a rally at Webco Manufacturing in Olathe, Kan., Monday, with guest appearances by several Kansas politicians seeking election in November.

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS), Reps. Ron Estes (R-KS) and Tracey Mann (R-KS), and governor hopeful and current Kansas Senate President Ty Masterson all spoke at the rally.

During the rally, Vance and other Republicans repeatedly attacked Democratic candidates in Kansas, including Adam Hamilton and Cindy Holscher, who are running for U.S. Senate and Governor, respectively.

“To Adam Hamilton and every far left radical who wants to gain power by dividing Americans against each other, our message is simple - we are united in keeping you as far away from the halls of Congress as possible,” Vance said.

In a statement sent shortly after the rally, Glynnis Harvey, spokesperson for the Hamilton campaign, said Hamilton's congregation was made up of equal parts Democrat, Republican, and independent.

"[Hamilton] welcomes VP Vance to come visit Resurrection, instead of attacking the largest United Methodist Church in the country in an attempt to save Roger Marshall’s flailing campaign and distract from record diesel and gas prices, the war in Iran, and Roger Marshall’s usurious medical debt collection practices," Harvey said.

Vance also touted the administration’s efforts to bring manufacturing jobs back to the United States.

“This is about love for our fellow citizens, this is about standing up for them, this is about standing up for workers in factories,” Vice President Vance said. “The way to love the United States of America is by fighting for the people who are here and have the right to be here.”

Manufacturing job openings in the US are slowly rising, although the number of manufacturing jobs remains well below post-pandemic levels.

Vice President Vance had appeared earlier in the day at the FBI Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri, to announce the US Government’s efforts to go after suspected fraudsters.
