Varsity Boys Tennis Claims Conway Springs Title
McPherson ties for first behind two individual champions at Conway Springs.
CONWAY SPRINGS, Kan. — The McPherson varsity boys tennis team tied for first place with 23 points at the Conway Springs tournament, powered by a pair of undefeated champions in ideal conditions.
Cooper Bohme went 3-0 to win the No. 1 singles bracket for his second tournament title of the week, while the No. 2 doubles team of Hayden Siemens and Parker Riemann also swept their three matches to claim first place. Jack Boese and Kepple Butcher finished second in No. 1 doubles at 2-1, falling to a state-medalist team by a single break in the final.
Aaron Winter, moved up from No. 2 singles to fill an open No. 1 singles spot, rallied from behind in his final match to finish third at 1-2, while freshman Bradon Holm gained varsity experience with a third-place finish in No. 2 singles.
