UTV Driver Killed in Two-Vehicle Collision in McPherson County
Male driver ejected after UTV struck SUV at rural intersection Tuesday afternoon
MCPHERSON, Kan. — A UTV driver was killed Tuesday afternoon after colliding with an SUV at the intersection of 12th Avenue and Moccasin Road in McPherson County, according to the McPherson County Sheriff's Office.
Deputies responding to the 4:35 p.m. call found the UTV on its side in the roadway and a Suzuki SUV in the ditch. Investigators determined the UTV was traveling north on 12th Avenue when it struck the westbound Suzuki in the intersection, causing the UTV to overturn and eject its driver. The male driver of the UTV was pronounced dead at the scene.
The female driver of the SUV was transported to the McPherson Center for Health for treatment. McPherson EMS, McPherson Fire and Conway Fire assisted at the scene. The Sheriff's Office did not immediately release the identities of those involved.
