United Way of the Plains Hosts Chamber Coffee, Announces Upcoming Event
ARKANSAS CITY — United Way of the Plains hosted a Chamber Coffee on Thursday morning, highlighting the organization's community outreach efforts and partnerships with local nonprofits.
The event, organized by the Arkansas City Area Chamber of Commerce, showcased United Way's work throughout Cowley County and surrounding areas. The organization collaborates with numerous local entities, including Angels in the Attic, Inc., to provide necessities and items for their outreach center.
United Way operates three nonprofit grant opportunities: Impact, Promise on the Plains and Senior Link. Representatives emphasized that anyone in need of assistance with food, rent, senior care, bills or other services can call 211 for help.
Multiple local businesses and organizations support United Way's mission, including The Property Shop, Brittany Dunlap-Shelter Insurance, Make It Yours, Pizza Ranch, Mid American Credit Union, City of Arkansas City, Graves Drug Ark City, KSOK Cowley Post, Quivira Council, Scouting America, Burford Theatre Arts, First UPC of Ark City, The Trust Company of Kansas, Ark City FFA, Pumpkin Pants Ranch and Wild Annie's Antique Boutique.
Legacy Regional Community Foundation will host the next Chamber Coffee on Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. in the Pike's Place Community Room.
