Two vehicles land in ditch after collision in northern Reno County

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — A two-vehicle crash Friday evening left one man with serious injuries after a attempted turn placed his car in the path of an oncoming pickup truck, according to the Reno County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies, Reno County EMS and Hutchinson Fire responded at approximately 7:04 p.m. April 24 to the intersection of 95th Avenue and Plum Avenue in northern Reno County.

Investigators say Isaiah Suter-Tan, driving a 2012 Lincoln MKZ northbound on Plum Avenue, attempted to turn west into a driveway and turned in front of a southbound 2018 Ford F-250 driven by Parker Dear. Both vehicles came to rest facing west in the west ditch.

Suter-Tan sustained serious injuries in the collision and was transported to a Wichita hospital. All three occupants of the F-250 were uninjured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Authorities say alcohol was not a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
