Two Southwestern College Students Receive Fran Jabara Award

WINFIELD, Kan. — Two Southwestern College students were honored with the Fran Jabara Award during the college's commencement exercises Sunday, May 10.

Avery Riedel, of Augusta, and Joseph Kasongo, of Lubumbashi, Democratic Republic of Congo, received the award, which recognizes student leadership.

"We honor these two Moundbuilders who have demonstrated the spirit of leadership during their time as students, exemplified in the life of the man who instituted this award," Southwestern College President Liz Frombgen said. "Two students who have truly been leaders during their college years, who have made our campus stronger through their presence, and we know will serve the communities they call home with dedication and grace."
