Two men shot in Hutchinson, police investigating

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Two men were shot Monday, Nov. 17, in separate incidents minutes apart on Hutchinson's west side, police said.

Officers responded at 7:46 p.m. to the 1100 block of West 19th Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting, according to the Hutchinson Police Department. They found an adult man with a gunshot wound to his lower extremity.

The victim was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in stable condition and was later released after treatment.

Six minutes later, at 7:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to 19th Avenue and Monroe Street, where they found another adult man inside a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center in critical condition and later transferred to St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Police said the investigation is ongoing. Detectives are interviewing several people who were present during the shooting and others with relevant information about the incidents.

No arrests have been made. Authorities said there is no known current threat to the public based on information available at this time.
