Tracey Mann: Serving the BIG FIRST of Kansas - August 12, 2025
From the office of Rep. Tracey Mann

Fellow Kansan,
Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter. I am back in the Big First traveling across Trego, Graham, Sheridan, Sherman, Cheyenne, Rawlins, Decatur, Norton, Phillips, Smith, Osborne, Rooks, and Saline counties meeting with Kansans from across the district. If you would like more information on what I am working on this week, be sure to follow me on social media.
I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America— I serve to fight and work to make it stronger. That’s what I am doing while believing our brightest days are yet to come.
Yours in service,
Tracey Mann
Cutting Red Tape For Our Veterans
President Trump recently signed H.R. 1815, the VA Home Loan Program Reform Act, into law. This legislation restores a partial claims program within the VA Home Loan system, giving veterans who fall on hard times a better chance to keep their homes. More than 3.7 million veterans currently use the VA Home Loan Program, including many in Kansas and across the Big First.
Until now, the VA was the only major federal loan program without this commonsense foreclosure prevention tool. As the representative of Fort Riley and communities with strong military ties, I was proud to support this bill and help ensure that those who served our country have every opportunity to build a life and raise a family here at home.
Honoring our Farmers

While I was traveling across the Big First this week, my Washington, D.C. staff stopped by the Shop Kansas Farms booth at the Great American Farmers Market on the National Mall—part of the America250 celebration. Kansas agriculture was well represented, and I’m proud to see our producers front and center in our nation’s capital.
Thank you to Secretary Brooke Rollins and everyone at USDA for their work to highlight the strength of American agriculture and the people behind it. Events like these remind folks in Washington that farmers and ranchers don’t just feed, fuel, and clothe the world, but they foster innovation day in and day out to leave the world better than they found it. I am proud to represent one of the top agriculture-producing districts in the country and to stand with our nation’s farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers.
Military Academy Applications

Each year, I have the honor of nominating select students from the Big First District to join the ranks of the best and brightest in our nation’s service academies. If you or someone you know is interested in attending a U.S. Service Academy, my office is currently accepting military nomination applications through September 29, 2025. For eligibility requirements and to apply, visit my website.

Meetings of the Week
Last week, I met with Kansans working in agriculture, manufacturing, health care, education, technology, and economic development. From visiting hospitals and vet centers to touring seed companies, airports, and small businesses, we had meaningful conversations about how to strengthen rural infrastructure, support veterans, and expand opportunities across western Kansas. I’m always grateful for the chance to hear directly from the people who make our communities strong. Thanks for the meetings!

Serving The Big First
As the summer season comes to an end, many Kansas families are making travel plans, preparing for time with loved ones, or seeking assistance with federal services. My offices in Washington, D.C., and Kansas are here to help. Whether you're interested in booking a tour of the U.S. Capitol, White House, or Library of Congress, need assistance with passports or a federal agency, or want to request an American flag flown over the Capitol, we’ve got resources available.
We’re also proud to assist Kansas veterans with accessing benefits and resolving issues with the VA. You can find helpful information and request services anytime at mann.house.gov, or feel free to call one of my offices in Washington, Manhattan, or Dodge City. My team and I are here to serve you.
