Kansas Among States That Hide Data Center Tax Break Recipients
A new report reveals that 36 states offer specific tax incentives to data centers, but only 11 disclose which companies receive those subsidies, raising transparency concerns as these energy-intensive facilities proliferate nationwide. Kansas is among the 25 states that do not publicly report which companies benefit from data center incentives, while states including Arizona, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin do provide that information.
