It happened around 7:06 p.m. in the 2300 block of N Persimmon Street, with crews getting the fire under control quickly. While the banana bread, wrapped in tinfoil, was completely burnt, there was no damage to the house; however, it filled the whole house with smoke.

Abilene Family Discovers 1973 Time Capsule During Home Renovation
An Abilene family made a remarkable discovery while renovating their home when they found a time capsule hidden in the stairs. Michelle Brown said her father came across a glass jar that held a handwritten note from the original builders, along with a nickel and a penny. The note revealed that the home was built during the fall and winter of 1973, with a construction cost of just $17,000. Inspired by the find, Brown said she plans to create her own time capsule to place back into the home for future generations to uncover.
