The Cedars Welcomes Community to Open House Event August 26

Newly Affiliated Bluestem Community Showcases Independent Living Options and Future Amenities

The Cedars Welcomes Community to Open House Event August 26

McPherson, KS- The Cedars will open its doors to the public on August 26 for an open house event designed to introduce prospective residents and their families to independent living opportunities at the newly affiliated Bluestem Community. The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with an informative presentation in The Cedars Event Center, where attendees will learn about daily life at The Cedars and explore Life Lease options for independent living homes. Following the presentation, visitors will receive maps for self-guided tours of available homes, allowing them to explore the facilities at their own pace until 9 p.m.

The open house comes at an exciting time for The Cedars, which recently joined the Bluestem Communities family after more than a year of strategic discussions between both organizations' leadership. This affiliation positions The Cedars to better serve seniors while maintaining the quality care residents have come to expect. While day-to-day life remains largely unchanged, the partnership will eventually provide residents access to expanded amenities across multiple Bluestem campuses, including dining options at restaurants like The Local Table and The Water's Edge, wellness centers featuring fitness facilities and pools, and educational opportunities through Bluestem U's lifelong learning programs.

Anyone interested in learning about senior living options is welcome to attend, though the event particularly targets individuals considering independent living now or in the near future, as well as adult children exploring care options for their loved ones. As the affiliation process continues over the coming months, leadership from both organizations remains committed to maintaining The Cedars' rich history while exploring opportunities to enhance services and infrastructure for the benefit of all residents.
